Success Story
Great work in your healing journey, Ms. Burge!

After sustaining a left femur fracture, Helen Burge arrived at Sterling Oaks in need of significant support. At admission, she was dependent on assistance for bed mobility and transfers, walking only 10 feet with maximum assistance. Even daily tasks like dressing required maximum assistance for her upper body and total dependence for her lower body. Through determination and dedicated rehabilitation, Helen made remarkable strides.
By the time of her discharge, she had regained significant independence. She could perform bed mobility with modified independence and complete transfers with supervision. Her mobility had improved dramatically—she was walking up to 200 feet with supervision,a major milestone in her recovery. Additionally, Helen gained confidence in dressing herself, achieving modified independence with upper body dressing and requiring only supervision for lower body dressing. Helen’s journey at Sterling Oaks isa true testament to perseverance and the power of rehabilitation. With hard work and the unwavering support of her care team, she reclaimed her independence and set herself on the path to continued recovery.
